You push the ECT PWR button (located left to the radio) to the "Off" position.
You push the ETC button again to turn it off.
where is the ect pwr button located on a 1997 avalon? the light came on and my husband assumed he must have pushed a button by mistake.
Press the PWR DOOR OFF button to the left of the steering column.
I believe the PWR HEAT button is an electronic choke which you use on cold mornings to help get the engine up to running temperature. Turn it off when you are driving in warm weather to low your RPMs and save fuel. I have one of these on my Japanese imported Toyota Estima with 2.4 Ltr petrol engine.
Well, as I've owned a Toyota Camry before, my advice would be to you, check for a button with "PWR" on it (usually near the gear shift). Most manual cars will have a "power" and "economy" mode in them. The "PWR" light on the dash probably means that you've got the vehicle in "power" mode. Find the button. Turn it off. Problem Solved :P Have fun!
press the button that says ECT PWR ON/OFF !! It's on the centre console (close to the gearstick)
Push the button on the left side of the dash.
This indicates that the ECT button (next to the gear shift) is depressed, which prevents the transmission from going into 5th gear while climbing a grade. Pushing the ECT button will return the transmission to normal function and the PWR light will no longer be displayed.
That is the button that changes the shift points and hold points on your transmission gear shifting. pwr is for more aggressive driving. down shifts quicker and holds the gear longer in the rpm band before shifting to the next gear....or leave it off for normal driving for economy. The "PWR" button allows the tranny to shift at higher RPMs & downshift quicker. Makes a big difference when passing on the highway. The "2nd" button makes the vehicle start in 2nd gear so tires don't break free in the muck or snow.
