Get vice grips and grip the fan pulley to somewehre on the engine so the fan can not move. Get a HUGE wrench and take off the nut behind the fan. Righty tighty lefty loosey.
cuz the engine gets to hot and even it's turned off it still needs to cool down so the fan keeps running to cool it and if u take a look at about half an hour after you turn the engine off you'll notice that it's off as it has cooled the engine :)
The operation of the fan is controlled by an independent engine temperature switch. Depending on the temp. of the engine block the fan with switch on/off. It's not uncommon for the electric fan to switch on once you stop the engine because the flow of radiator coolant through the engine stops when you turn the engine off. Without the coolant running through the engine and radiator the temperature of the engine will spike for a short time triggering the electric fan. It should shut off after a few moments.
The engine cooling fan will continue to run because the engine is hot. Once the engine has cooled down the fan will shut off. If it never shuts off you may have a bad temp switch or relay.
There is no possibility of cards fan ever take off. There is no way that the fans of cards will ever take off.
If your engine fan turns on when the engine is not running it is because the engine's coolant temperature is above the factory preset level at which the computer turns on the fan or fans to cool the engine back to normal.
The fan should turn off after the engine is shut off. If it stays on, the radiator fan relay has failed.
The fan is ran by the computer. It will continue to run for a short time after the engine is shut off and is normal. If it doesn't shut off, that is NOT normal.
If the fan keeps running it's because it is electric and wired through a temperature switch not the ignition. Electric Fan running is independent of engine running. When the temperature is high enough to start the fan, it goes on. when the temp drops the fan goes off. Temp does not drop right away when the car is turned off. It can actually rise several degrees when the engine is turned off. The fan running after engine shut off is actually a good thing that may prevent radiator overflow
Engine hot and fan cooling it down?Fan temperature sensor bad and it just thinks engine is hot and needs to be cooled down
If the fan does not stop running after the engine is shut off in the Renault Scenic 2000, there could be a problem with the fan relay switch. The fan relay switch is located in the fuse box.
undo the bolts/nuts that hold it on .... take the fan off .... replace the fan and put the bolts/nuts back in and tighten them up ... bingo .... fan changed
