Why does high school start early?

The school schedule was actually designed to accomadate an aggrial (farming) society, where kids needed to get home to help with the family chores. this is not the society the mojority of us live in now and would be wise to change it so that there are not so many latchkey kids running around with no supervision while their parents are working jobs that last till 5 or 6pm.

Its because the teachers are thinking that we need to be responsible and get ready for the *Real world* when we are only in school and arnt even in collage yet.

There are many factors that determine what time high school starts. Teacher contracts and state laws regarding the number of hours or days of student contact play a factor. School districts also have to consider bus routes and before and after school activities. Traffic during the times school lets out in the afternoon may also be a concern with the school board trying to avoid a lot of students leaving during a busy traffic time.

Because middle school students are older and smarter than elementary students and need more education for when they get out of school.
