Bran and Scolen (two dogs)
As a general rule, if it's called a "legend", it's not true.
There is the story called "The dog of Pompeii" but another legend is the son of the scientist
Fionn Mac Cumhaill,s dogs were called Bran and Sceolan .
The Irish language word for "dog" is madra, although madadh is also used in some Gaeltachts. A hunting dog is called gadhar, and cú, a hound/greyhound. The Scots Gaelic word is cù.
That movie is called I am Legend and it is like super awesome!
madra
Be aware that 'Gaelic' is actually two separate languages: Scottish Gaelic (called 'Gaelic' in Scotland) and Irish Gaelic (called 'Irish' in Ireland). In Irish: gadhar rua or madra rua (the latter can also mean 'fox')In (Scottish) Gaelic: cu ruadh.
For what it's worth in Irish Gaelic it'sbeatha chéastasaol cráite.
