Continental Europe is also referred as Mainland Europe. It does not include the islands of Europe.

Ireland is an island off the northwest of mainland Europe. It is in the Atlantic Ocean. It has a mild climate, with lots of rain, due to its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. It is not in a tropical region.
