Barangay Bacayan is originally named Sitio Talamban, a place known for its bamboo and venue
for cockfighting activities.
The original settlers in Barangay Bacayan were the families of Valentin Borgonia, German
Supapo, Fortunato Velayo, Quintin Erana, Cornelio Gerona and Pedro Entece. In 1952, Pedro
Entece became the Teniente Del Barrio, the first Punong Barangay at that time.
Barangay Bacayan celebrates its annual fiesta every third Saturday of September in honor of
the Patron Saint Sr. San Roque.
The name of the Barangay was taken from the native word "Tigbakayan" which means an open
place where cockfights were held. Some old folks say the name derived from the word
"bagacay" or place where bamboo trees abound.
Bacayan surfaced as the official name of the Barangay as it is closer to the descriptions of the
place passed on from one generation to another.

Barangay San Miguel in Pasig City was created in the 1960s as part of the government's efforts to decentralize governance and provide more local autonomy. It was named after the patron saint of Pasig City, Saint Michael the Archangel. The barangay has evolved from a rural community into a residential and commercial area over the years.
