I am not a Spanish expert but the word is a combination of Cara ( Dear, as adjective) and Devil- a Dear Devil, a sweet or affectionate devil- maybe a child molester?? , cara means face not dear and diablo means devil as stated above, and the caradiablo really means face like a devil, i saw a book on the subject many years ago and the thing looks like a miniuature devil
