It depends on what you want to do as a career. You will probably make more money being an accountant but since many countries are in recession right now you may have a hard time finding a job.
As for languages you can do many things such as teach English in a Foreign country or Study Abroad, etc.
When trying to figure out which is better between a BCompt or a BCom accounting degree, it depends on the career path you wish to take. If you want to become a Chartered Accountant, you would be better off with a BCompt degree because a BCom degree specializes in general business with accounting as a subject.
In my opinion, it's always better to take a class in person because it's easier to interact with the instructor. However, with most accounting classes, you'll probably get adequate instruction online since most of the material isn't lab-based.
