I think Gorman is the caretaker of the original house where Caleb's father is.
Jeremiah 31:30: "Behold, the days come, says the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah."According to Jewish tradition, it doesn't mean a different covenant, since two verses later the prophet continues "I will place my Torah among them and on their hearts."
Obed-Edom was blessed because he faithfully took care of the ark of the covenant in his house. God honored his reverence and responsibility, leading to Obed-Edom experiencing blessings and favor as a result.
Solomon's temple was built in Jerusalem on the "Temple Mount". It was a temple built to house the "Ark of the Covenant".
The Ark of the Covenant (see Exodus ch.25).
Jeremiah 31:33 - But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. [NKJV]
A Covenant is a Divine Contract between God and man. They began very specific or narrow, enlarging to the New Covenant. The Mosaic Covenant, aka the Sinaic Covenant or the Old Covenant was primarily a 'physical blessings for specific actions (like a contract) that incorporated ritualistic sacrifices that pointed to or pictured the Coming Messiah. These sacrifices could not erase the guilt of sin we each carry.Paul was inspired to tell us why God gave us the New Covenant in Hebrews:Hebrews 8:6-10New King James Version (NKJV) 6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.A New Covenant7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. 8 Because finding fault with them, He says: "Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah- 9 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the LORD. 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.Amendments to the Old Covenant included the discontinuance of sacrifices as we have in Jesus the perfect sacrifice paid for all sin. The need of Levitical priesthood as we now have an eternal Priest, Jesus, in the order of Melchizedek. It fully enlarged all who could partake of this New Covenant from the OC House of Israel only to now include all Gentiles. BUT the Law was not changed - one jot or tittle. A most important point. Finally, the Holy Spirit of God was only given to a very few in the Old Covenant - Patriarchs, some Kings and Prophets. In the New Covenant, the Spirit of God/Christ is available for all who are called to repentance (John 6:44, 65).
The Church of Our Virgin Mary of Zion in claims to house the original Arc of the Covenant.
There is no "church" covenant. Jeremiah 31:31-34 speaks of Yehovah making a new (lit. translation "renewed") covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah (the Northern and Southern tribes). This is quoted in the apostolic writings in Hebrews 8:8 - 12. Yeshua (Jesus) refers to this during the Passover seder popularly known as "the Last Supper," when he stated, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, that for you is being poured forth," (Luke 22:20).There other references to the renewed covenant made in 2 Corinthians 3:6, and in Hebrews chapters 8, 9, and 12.
The three major Jewish covenants are Noah's Covenant, Abraham's Covenant, the Mosaic Covenant (Moses' Covenant.)
Yes, because a covenant means an agreement with God and the Torah describes an covenant.
