it is spelt crann 'nollaig' and it means Christmas tree in Irish

NO, it is in fact spelt "Crann Nollag" because the word is "Nollaig" in its normal form but when two nouns become together it becomes genitive (an tuiseal ginideach) and loses the "i".

Look it up in a dictionary if you don't believe me...
