Technically...

4.0 A

3.67 A-

3.33 B+

3.0 B

2.67 B-

2.33 c+

2.0 C

1.67 C-

1.33 D+

0- 1 F

It depends on schools but most go by this standard. 2.79 would be somewhere between a B- and a B. You should keep in mind that a 2.79 at one school may be a different GPA at another school. This takes into account the difficulty which is viewed of the school's program.

That depends on the highest GPA possible. Most likely you are being graded on a 4 point scale.. meaning a GPA of 4.0 equals PERFECT. A++. Which would mean a 2.27 is a C. A low C, very close to a D.

If your graded on a 5 point scale... it would equal a D for sure.

It depends on the institution. Some schools use minuses while others use plus grades. a 2.776 (or very close to this) could be either a C+ or B-.
