Scholastic Aptitude Test

AnswerThe SAT Reasoning Test is a standardized test for college admissions in the United States. The SAT is administered by the not-for-profit College Board corporation in the United States, and is developed, published, and scored by the Educational Testing Service (ETS).

The current SAT Reasoning Test is administered in about 3 hours and 45 minutes and costs $49 ($75 International), excluding late fees. After SAT's introduction in 1901, its name and scoring has changed several times. In 2005, the test was renamed as "SAT Reasoning Test" with possible scores from 600 to 2400 combining test results from three 800-point sections (math, critical reading, and writing), along with other subsections scored separately.

The SAT was originally called the Scholastic Aptitude Test. In 1993, the name was changed to SAT I: Reasoning Test. In 2004, the name was changed again to SAT Reasoning Test, but everyone today refers to the test as the SAT. The SAT is the most widely taken college entrance exam.

I have been using examville.com for my SAT preparations, they have online practice tests and live classes, must say excellent stuff.

The SAT (technically known as the SAT I) is a general test of verbal and quantitative reasoning accepted for U. S. college admissions. The test is required for admission to undergraduate programs of most US universities. Many universities also require you to take SAT-II tests.
