Such an ambiguous question!!
Employers will look for candidates with degrees most suited to the actual job! If you're wanting to do law, it's pretty obvious that a law degree is most preferred and not one in agriculture per say!
If you are talking about which degrees are most highly rated, then it would depend on many factors i.e where you are graduating from; a degree in law from Cambridge is much more prestigious than one from Coventry for example. Employers will take the university you graduate from into account.
Degrees that are intensive in nature and require a decent set of A levels to get are seen as more creditable. A few examples of these degrees would be economics, philosophy, maths, physics (all sciences to be honest) and there are obviously more. Degrees in these subjects show you have high levels of analytical skill and that you have worked hard to achieve these degrees.
With more people than ever going to university, you will be competing for jobs with more people with degrees. Therefore it is advised that you max out your potential and opt for an intensive and 'non lazy' degree to stand out from the rest. For instance if you achieved AAA in your A levels with traditional academic subjects (not film studies, media etc) and are interested in the business world, go for an Economics degree rather than one in Business Studies.
Salary, earning potential, and marketability are not only determined by the type of field you are in and the degree you possess. It depends on your position within that field, the institution you work for, your experience, expertise, personal abilities, critical thinking skills, problem solving abilities, dedication and commitment toward ones work, and more. Thus, salary is not so much dependent on the type of degree as much as it is dependent on the person who holds the degree. Still, if you have a specific occupational title, you can then retrieve the estimated mean annual wage particular to that occupation through the U.S. Department of Labor: Bureau of Labor Statistics.
