It's Δεινόσαυρος (dinosavros). Already a greek word. Dinosaur: Dino=Δεινός (dinos which means great, fearful), saur=Σαύρα (savra which means lizzard).

Also look at Sauron (Lord of the Rings) (Σαύρων in greek) = The lizzard-like one.
