Yes, of course it is perfectly okay to be asexual.
You can be whatever sexuality you want to be - well, it's not exactly a choice but the point is that you can be open about it if you want. There is a lot of misinformation and ignorance about sexuality but as we go forward a lot of that misinformation is melting away so there's now more understanding.
