Yes, in that the United States veterinary profession will recognize the academic credentials of a veterinarian trained in Russia. However, to practice veterinary medicine in the United States, the Russian veterinarian will have to pass both a test of proficiency in the English language as well as a comprehensive veterinary medical knowledge test for graduates of non-American veterinary schools. Once you pass both of these, you are eligible to sit for a state licensing test (if you pass the foreign graduate test, you are probably fine for the state test) and to work on getting both federal accreditation and certification as well as a DEA (drug) license.

When Was MBBS Established in Russia?

The MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) degree is not specifically established in Russia. Instead, Russia follows its own medical education system. In Russia, the equivalent degree to the MBBS in Russia is the MD (Doctor of Medicine) or "Vrach" in Russian. The MD program in Russia has a long history, with its origins dating back to the establishment of the first medical school in Russia. The Imperial Moscow University, now known as the First Moscow State University, founded the Faculty of Medicine in 1758. This was the first institution in Russia to offer formal medical education. Over the years, several medical schools and faculties were established throughout Russia, providing education and training in medicine. These institutions have evolved and developed their own curriculum and degree structure, leading to the awarding of the MD degree. It is important to note that the specific timeline of when the MD degree became the standard in Russia may vary across different institutions. However, the MD degree has been widely recognized and conferred in Russia for many decades, representing the completion of medical education and qualification as a medical doctor in the country.

Otolaryxology Doctor with DO after name mean?

I am guessing you meant an otolaryngologist (an ears, nose, and throat doctor). The DO stands for Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. It is equivalent to a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) medical degree. Again, both the M.D. and D.O. are equivalent degrees and both are medical physicians with slightly different approaches to treatment and patient care.
