2005
For the SAT test given before spring 2016, the maximum score was 2400. The new SAT in 2016 will be out of 1600.
The GPA most likely is fine, but Uconn is becoming a more competitive university and the 1600 out of 2400 may not be enough when compared to kids applying with higher scores.
Middle 50% - 1830-2140 / 2400 or 1300-1400 / 1600
Anyway, for SDSU, the general SAT score is between 1600 and 1800 (thats out of 2400) or maybe 1200+ on the 1600 scale. ACT is ~20-25.
On the old SAT, there was just the reading and the math section, each is worth 800 points. The new SAT includes a writing section which is also worth 800 points. So the old = 1600. New = 2400.
A great old SAT score would typically be above 1500 out of 2400. This translates to roughly 1550 or higher on the redesigned SAT out of 1600.
In the old SAT format, the highest possible score was 1600, comprising of an 800 in the Math and 800 in the Verbal section. The new SAT format is out of 2400. The highest score you can get in each section is 800. The 3 sections are Math, Critical Reading, and Writing. Some schools only look at the Math and Critical Reading section (totaling 1600). Every year people score 2400 SATs and 1600s. This is extremely rare, but there are students that manage the 'perfect score' every year. These students would be part of 'history' with their perfect SAT scores and would have their name up with those who record the highest SAT scores. Only about 60 students per state get a full score every year.

First, is this on the 1600- or 2400-point scale. Most likely one would want to retake the test to attempt to get a better score.
