There are many different Master's Degrees available so it depends.
Examples: M.A., M.Sc., MSc, M.Sci., M.Si., Sc.M., M.S., MSHS, MS, Mag., Mg., Mgr, S.M., or SM
The most common here in the United States is the Master of Arts Degree.
Traditionally you would write this as follows:
Example: John Smith, M.A.
More recently people are writing it like this:
Example: John Smith, MA
In the United States it is uncommon to put MA or M.A. or any of the other Masters degrees after your name. With a PhD this is generally acceptable, MD as well, JD you will see on occasion but and MA less frequently.
That said some of the specialty Masters Degrees, for example an MFA (Master of Fine Arts) or an MBA (Master of Business Administration) will be used on occasion, but it is much more acceptable to put a M.Sci. after your name as this degree is usually going to qualify you for something specific while most MA/Master of Arts are only acquired enroute to a PhD, and are thus not intended to be so-called terminal degrees. In other words an MA indicates in many situations a PhD that was truncated do to poor performance on comp exams, etc.
Hope That Helps.
Yours Truly,
BA, JD, and soon to be PhD
[your name] M. Ed.
Kathleen Snow
No matter where you went to school, the degree is the same: your name, MA.Ed
It means Master of Education...meaning they earned a Masters degree in Education.
You can place an MEd after your name, if you are working in that capacity.
Its the degree MEd means a Masters degree in Education
Its the degree MEd means a Masters degree in Education
To write "Master of Arts in Psychotherapy" after your name, you would typically use the abbreviation "MA" or "M.A." before your name. For example: [Your Name], MA.
Licensed Professional Counselor, Masters of Education
Example: John Smith M.S.
If you have a Master's in Secondary Education, you can sign your name with the suffix "M.Ed." after it to indicate your educational qualification. For example, you can sign it as "John Doe, M.Ed." This helps to showcase your level of education in the field of secondary education.
It depends on what masters area you graduated from. In other words, if the degree is a masters of arts, then John or Jane Doe M.A. If the degree is a masters in science, then John or Jane Doe M.S.
