i assume you mean the pug dog

but this breed is believed to have been mainly confined to the far east during roman times

moreover there don't appear to have been separate latin words for any breeds of dogs

so the pug is unlikely to have had any classical latin name other than just plain canis

or canis familiaris

even tho totally unfamiliar

in medieval latin canis sinensis would mean a Chinese dog

& that may be the best you could hope to make of it
