∙ 10y agoWhile a simple 'Feliz Navidad' will suffice, the more proper response is, 'Espero que tenga UD. un Feliz Navidad y prospero nuevo." (I hope you have a happy Christmas and a prosperous new year). Answering thusly will show that you understand the cultural nuances and increase your status among your Mexican friends. Since the holidays stretch from before Christmas to after New Year's Day, it is quite likely that you won't see each them again to wish them a happy new year.
