All you can do is be yourself and certainly don't think your better or more "mature" than others as that will definitely not get you in with them. Be friendly and outgoing, even if you're not naturally outgoing. Talk to people in your classes, smile a lot, be friendly, raise your hand a lot in class. Kids will see you and you'll get more attention in class. Then, they'll most likely start saying "hi" to you in the halls. Just be cool about everything and be yourself and be friendly. That's all you gotta do. Don't stress about it. Also, you can get a big group of friends together and hang out. Like if you already have a couple close friends, you can invite them and other people over to watch a movie and hang out. Just be yourself and be friendly. Don't stress.
