Many universities offer a separate master's degree in Special Education. I am finishing mine, now, through Indiana University. Contact your local college or university for an appropriate abbreviation - there are different levels and areas of specialization.

Answer :

I would think that the abbreviation would be M Ed with special education. But each university would probably have a different abbreviation for the same course.

Typically M.Ed. (MEd) if it's the school's terminal degree in that subject, or Ed.M (EdM) if the terminal degree is the Ed.D. (EdD) in that subject and at that school.
