The best thing to do is to read the first chapter, skim the middle, and then read the very end. Then try to summarize the book based on that, focusing on events and comparisons that you can do just focusing on the very beginning and the very end. If you have some money, you could also buy the Cliffs Notes, which offer excellent summaries which you can use in your analysis. ... Then you just hope that your shoddy job is good enough. :) I did a report on Beowulf in college that way, and the instructor liked it until the very last page where I had to guess on something, and guessed wrong... still got a C, but you know... if I had actually read the book, I would have gotten an A. So... next time, try to read the book. But this time, get as much as you can from the book in the time available, and then get writing.
