Definitely to train as a nurse. There are various programs: a 4 year degree where you earn a B.S. in nursing. A three diploma program sponsored by a hospital were you earn a diploma as an R.N., an accelerated program of 2 years wheere you earn a RN. A two year college program where you earn an Associate degree. Then you can train to be an L.P.N., a licensed practical nurse. This is an 18 month program. Some high schools have a program where the high school student attends a pre-clinical coursework as a senior then after graduating from high school, there is a 9 month course of clinical work. Then the graduate is an L.P.N. . A nursing graduate must pass the board of nursing test to be licensed in the state of graduation.
