Certain colleges are a little picky as to the credits you transfer. Also, The curriculum varies from college to college. So, to answer your question, it depends on the college you are planning to transfer to. They probably won't allow you to transfer the entire degree program, only the credit hours. If the credit hours and classes meet their criteria for an associates, then they will consider that an associates. Just ask the advisers at the college you're going to attend in the future.

Yes they can. How many credits will transfer will depend on what you took your associates in, and what you intend to take your bachelors in. If it is within the same field, it should transfer well.

Yes you can. There are those who take courses toward a second degree, certificate, or diploma. Some take courses that are prerequisites for another institution, while still others take courses for their own personal enrichment. Unless this is a school with very restricted programs, I do not see why you could not take courses.

It depends on the specific program of study, and the university you transfer to. For example, associate in applied science programs within the engineering technologies will transfer to a four year institution provided you stay in engineering technology. Some community colleges also have articulation agreements with four year colleges and universities that are program specific. You should meet with a transfer counselor at the community college for detailed information. You have to be careful with the applied science degrees, for many do not transfer well. Still, once again it depends on the specific major.

Most colleges will accept an associates degree issued by another college, but you would have to check with the individual college.

What kind of bachelor's degree can you get from an associates degree in arts?

You can pursue any bachelor's degree you want to. If you have completed an associates degree, the amount of courses that can be transferred from the associates degree will depend on which bachelor's degree you choose. Some associates degrees are fully transferable to a bachelor's within the same field. Others are very career oriented and do not transfer well, such as some associates of applied science degrees. Still, that depends on whether the college has articulation agreements with other four years colleges and universities. Do not choose a bachelor's degree solely on the amount of credits you can transfer, but because it will lead you to your overall career goals and objectives. It you you not have one, then you need to find your passion with vision. A clearly articulated picture of the future you intend to create for yourself. Once you have that, your path will become clear.
