Absolutely! My undergraduate work is in psychology, but my masters is in organizational management. If you do not have the appropriate prerequisites for the masters program of your choice, you may have to complete them at the undergraduate level if you have not already done so. Still, some graduate work may not have prerequisites. Thus, you can choose a masters within a different field than your bachelors work.

You can pursue a masters in most fields or related fields. You should first determine your overall career goals and objectives and then your path to achieve that goal will become clear.

In the US, at least, graduate schools do not normally require that you have a bachelors in the specific field you're trying for a postgraduate degree in. However, if you know you want a masters in a particular field, it's pretty dumb to NOT get your bachelors in that field or a very closely related one.

You will need to know that material to pass the graduate level courses anyway, even if the graduate school doesn't technically require it.

(Is there actually such a thing as a bachelor's in general studies? I wouldn't hire one.)

Answer#2: Yes, there IS a bachelor's in general studies and it's respectable because it is in three fields. MUCH better for a psychology major than a plain-Jane bachelor's of psychology alone. Psychology is a very competitive field and places are looking for people who are more diverse in their studies- such as psychology and Biology, psychology and English, or anything else.

There are programs that allow you to do a bachelor's of general studies in English, History, and Psychology! :) Great idea! Stick with it!

Yes, you can do anything you put your mind to. I would suggest starting with a community college then transfer to a four year. If your GPA is good and with a few recommendations most universities will accept you. After you earn your BA/BS, again keeping a good GPA and some recommendations, as well as classes pertaining to your major, you should be able to get a graduate degree program you like.

Yes, you can! Some programs of study may require some prerequisites at the undergraduate level, but all of this is very doable. Make sure you have a total understanding of what a masters in education is going to do for you, and whether it will meet your expectations. In other words, if you plan on becoming a teacher within the public school system (Pre-K through 12th grade), a masters degree does not automatically make you a state certified teacher. Thus, know where this degree is going to lead you.

Yes you can. It's called a masters in liberal arts. I'm not exactly sure how many colleges and universities offer liberal arts at the masters level, however there are many. To find these schools, read the following carefully.

You can obtain this information by going to www.collegeboard.com/splash/ and using the sites College MatchMaker search engine, or you can also click on the related links below which will take you directly to the site. You can research colleges and universities by name, or by programs of study, or by geographical location, size, or combinations of part or all of them etc. The site will provide you with a list of institutions based on your request. It will give you the schools background, accreditation, degree offerings, programs of study, entrance requirements, tuition and fees, room and board, athletic programs etc. and a link to each institutions official web page. Make sure the college or university has a regional accreditation (most important). Practice navigating this site. It will be well worth the time and effort.
