Accurate answers are hard to come by, but by subtracting the people who circumcise - Muslims, USAmericans, Filipinos, South Koreans, tribal Africans, Jews, some Melanesians, eastern Polynesians and outback First Australians from the total, you can conclude that 2/3 to 4/5 of men in the world have untouched genitalia - a clear majority of men in the world. In most of the world male genital cutting is rarely practiced. For example in most of Europe, South America, Central America and Asia, only the male children of Muslims and Jews undergo genital cutting. However, in some English-speaking countries where male genital cutting was once common, most older men are genitally cut while few babies are.

Circumcision is almost universal in Israel, where most of the population is Jewish. Circumcision is also practiced among almost all Muslims.

In the United States 25 years ago, the vast majority of babies underwent genital cutting but today a bare majority do.

Rates vary widely by region in the United States. In the Midwest and southeast, they remain as high as 65%, while in the western United States, generally well below 25%.
