Not necessarily. It depends on the individual teacher. Each will have strengths and weakness particular to themselves. Having a higher degree does not mean the individual can apply that knowledge appropriately. In terms of educators much depends on their ability to appropriately inspire trust and confidence, and motivate students, as well as understand the students' educational and emotional needs. This typically comes from a passion for what they do. Unfortunately, some do not possess that passion.

A teacher with a major in education and a minor in speech therapy can earn how much?

It really depends on where you are going to teach. States vary on what the teachers get paid. And then even if you look at each county and school district the pay differs there too. For instance, some teachers in the Southern part of the US earn as little as 25,000 or less to start and in Northern states (NY, NJ) some teachers can start with as much as 50,000. If you have a Bachelors, you earn money based on that degree, not if you have a minor unless it is working towards a Masters. Then they usually give you money if you have a Bachelors +18 credits towards a Masters. It really depends though upon where you live exactly.
