Economists have said that "price floorsand price ceilings stifle (prevent) the rationing function of prices and distort resource allocation." Consider what happens after a hurricane, prices are often frozen to pre-hurricane prices through "price gouging laws" to protect the consumer. Is this an example of a price ceiling or a price floor? This occurs for gasoline as well as for groceries and other products that might be in high demand after the damage of a hurricane. What is the impact in the market place of these limits?
When the percentage change in price is equal to the percentage change in quantity demanded then demand is said to be unit elastic. There are 3 kinds of price elasticity of demand.
There are 2 different types price elasticity of demand and price elasticity of supply. If you meant to ask is demand for coal price elastic on inelastic, answer is yes, it is price inelastic. The demand for coal, is unlikely to drop much even if the price of it increases, it can be said that it is a 'necessity'. Since the quantity demanded decreases less than proportionate than the increase in price, it is said to be price inelastic.
Elasticity of supply refers to the responsiveness of guantity supplied of a commodity to changes in its own price. And the formulafor measuring elasticity of supply percentagechange in quantity supplied/ %change in price
elastic:elasticity is %change in q / %change in ptherefore when quantity responds strongly to price, then it is price elastic

Aristotle said, "The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it."

That depends on where you are, Here in California, S.F., It cost $4.25 per sq. ft. to refinish a wood floor. And being that it has a wax finish, it can cost more because the floor contractor might have to use extra steps to get that wax finish off. That is my profession, and wax is one floor I hate to refinish. Like I said before, it depends on where you are.
The English word 'floor' is said in the African Abaluhya (Luhya) language as "obweruu".
Between 1982 and 1986 combined industry commissions on securities rose from $6 billion to over $12.6 billion, and total industry revenues jumped from $23.2 billion to $50 billion.
