Not enough to go to jail over.
A low grade copper mine might be re-opened if: 1) If copper prices go up. 2) It's a massive deposit, easily extracted, close to rail lines or shipping. 3) If it's found with something else, like silver or gold, that boosts the value. 4) During war, or major copper shortage. 5) If cheap new refining methods are discovered.
A quarter never had 25 cents worth of copper in it. Quarters used to be made of roughly 25 cents worth of silver, but are now made of mostly copper due to cost reasons. The fact remains that a quarter is still worth 25 cents, and if you should so wish you could go and buy 25 cents worth of copper with it (a little more than two ounces of copper). Sorry I ment to say a quarter used to have 25 cents worth of silver in it now it has 2 cents worth of copper are you getting ripped off? I will reenter the question. Thanks.

No, a penny is not completely made of copper. Since 1982, pennies are made of 97.5% zinc and 2.5% copper.
Almost. Cents made from 1864 to 1942 and from 1944 to mid-1982 were made of approximately 95% copper and 5% other metals, mainly tin and/or zinc. 1943 cents were of course made of steel due to WW2 metal needs. To find a pure copper cent you'd have to go back to the days of Large Cents, before 1857.
It is illegal to melt U.S. pennies for copper. You can go to the United States Government mint site www.usmint.gov for more information. Every penny made before 1982 is 95% copper, and thus is worth 2.5 times its face value.
Well you go to Lenny at the beach he will tell you to go to Penny. He says she likes reading so go to the library. Talk to Penny. She will tell you to go back to Lenny. Go back to Lenny he will say he hasn't received any letters so go back to Penny. She will say go to the fisherman at the harbor. Talk to him then go back to Penny. She will say to go to Lenny and she will follow. Go back to the beach and talk to Lenny. Then you have finished the quest.
A 1978 Canadian penny with maple leaves is worth one cent in Canada, maybe two if copper prices go back up. All Canadian cents minted 1936-2012 (except for 1967) have maple leaves on the back.
The current U.S. cent is copper plated zinc. Go back a bit and it was different. Here's the breakdown: 1793 to 1857 - copper 1857 to 1864 - 88% copper, 12% nickel (the so-called NS-12 alloy) 1864 to 1942 - bronze (95% copper, 5% tin and zinc) 1943 - zinc-coated steel (the so-called steel penny) 1944 to 1946 - brass (95% copper, 5% zinc) 1946 to 1962 - bronze (95% copper, 5% tin and zinc) 1962 to 1982 - brass (95% copper, 5% zinc) 1982 to present - 97.5% zinc core, 2.5% copper plating The history of the U.S. cent is a long and interesting one. A link can be found below if you're curious about reviewing it.
same as the rest, if you want a valuable penny you have to go back much further
