Before 1950s there used to be many coal mining in UK but nowdays there are very less and the main reasons are :-

  • Could be bought from cheaper rate from other countries like Russia, Idonesia, South Africa and others
  • The railway moved to diseal and electricity.
  • Competetion from nuclear power,cheaper gas and oil.
