Well- to extract gold! Gold is a metal and is one of the most precious and valuable ones that there is- the purpose of mining it is for it's use both in industry, manufacturing, and also as a form of currency on global financial markets. It has different levels of purity, which depend upon what percentage level of pure gold can be extracted from other metals that may be mixed up with it- in some cases it is not possible to extract more than so much of another metal from gold, which makes it of a lower value than purer gold- this value is measured in units called 'carats'. Gold is used extensively in industry, and in the process and content of manufactured goods- in some cases it is better to use gold of a lower carat value in this, as it can actually serve as a better metallic conductor or other ingredient than gold of a higher carat value. Purer gold, which is of a higher financial value, is essential for a nation's economic stability, as most nations have a gold reserve in addition to a monetary one, and this is held to boost the inherent value of a country's economic worth. Valuable items made from gold, such as jewellery, utensils and items of artwork, are bought and sold by a nation's wealthy people and also by it's companies and corporations, which serve to help keep it's economy stable and healthy in terms of gross domestic product.

What type of mining was required to find gold?

Gold mining typically involves both surface mining and underground mining. Initially, surface mining techniques such as panning, sluicing, and dredging are used to extract gold from shallow deposits. As the easier-to-access gold becomes depleted, underground mining methods like shaft mining and drift mining are employed to access deeper ore deposits.
