Which opinion would a Republican most likely hold about entitlement programs?

Many Republicans and US taxpayers wrongly think Social Security Retirement and Social Security Disability are "entitlement" programs---- they are not. Most Republicans believe the "entitlement" programs cost the government too much money. However, most federal dollars are matching dollars or in support of State programs, such as Medicaid and SNAP. Without the Federal dollars, States would not be able to help poor, ill, disabled, and elderly. *NOTE: Most of these groups had worked before needing help, or now still work part-time as they are able and allowed under program rules. NOTE2: The amount of the typical Soc. Sec. check is not enough to live on; there are no extra dollars for anything. NOTE3: Most people pay high prices for Part D medications or part D premiums.

Is government responsible for rising inflation?

Rising inflation will force the government's cost of borrowing money to rise sharply. With the US government currently carrying 17 TRILLION dollars in debt - 40% of it incurred in the last 5 years - a spike in inflation would force the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates (currently at or near zero), which would jack up the cost of servicing the government debt. This would cause real government spending on welfare programs and transfer payments to fall, because the government cannot borrow more than it is doing now. The result would probably be runaway inflation and a new Great Depression. Similar to what Argentina is suffering now, with 40% per month inflation and the government practically facing an uprising.

What group is most responsible for the rapidly increasing health costs care?

The federal Government, Regulations on health care and pharmaceuticals cost approximately 80% of the price. So subtract 80% of the cost of health care and Pharmaceuticals and you'd be paying what the insurance companies are actually charging to insure you.........

What is one reason the government has only limited control of it's spending?

When the government starts some programs, it usually has little to no idea what they will cost over the long haul. Also, there are many 'entitlements', programs that the government is obliged to fund regardless of the mind of the current congress or administration. There is also the enormous interest on the insane debt that the US is burdened with. We can't default on our entitlement programs or on our debt. After that is taken care of, there isn't much left to worry about.
