Generally speaking, a nation with an open, democratic political system will nurture its economic development. This is in terms of imports, exports and the vitality of its home industries.

Economics are political are significantly related due to the fundamental relationship of production and power. Because politics represents the organisation and use of coercion to achieve control, it has associated costs which must be released from the society under its sovereignty. Additionally, the use of force can be to varying ideological and practical ends; economic production can be redistributed, often against the will of those whom it is taken from. However, since all political systems use coercion as a means of redistribution, politics affects economic outcomes and, likewise, economic outcomes affect both the desirability and perceived morality of political systems. In the modern era political science and economics, in key conditions, are inseparable.
