Qualitative Quantitative 1. Education produces the quantum of manpower that the economy needs at any time e.g. Engineers, lawyers, teachers, etc. 2. Education equips manpower with skills. 3. Adjust manpower to the changing needs of the society/economy. 4. Revision of curricula in response to the dynamic rate of the economy. 5. Long school years serve as gate-keeping mechanism to keep youth until a certain age from the labour market/ control the influx of manpower (latent function). Qualitative Education imparts 'know-what' as well as 'know-how'. Know-what = subject matter. Know-how = skills/methods and techniques of doing things. Success on the job requires both.
