People believe the chances of a major earthquake are very low in their lifetimes, and faulted areas may have the cheapest land values, or benefits such as good soil. In other cases, as in LIC's (Low Income Countries), it may be the only affordable place to live. In many earthquake-prone places, such as Japan, there are few fault-free areas.
With the advent of earthquake-resistant construction, people are safer living in fault zones.
The same thinking applies to areas near volcanoes, where extensive rebuilding of population centers may occur between eruptions...because it will only devastate the people who live there if and when an eruption actually occurs. The time scale between eruptions (as between major earthquakes) may be hundreds or thousands of years.
Well, a lot of people and animals have no choice whether to live near a fault or not because there pretty much everywhere. In places like Sri Lanka, Ireland and North Korea (pretty much free from earthquakes) there are a fair few faults but rarely move so much in as so many years. Fault lines have a positive effect aswell such as being responsible of making beatiful scenories such as the Dragons Gate mountains in China, all the Mountains in Victoria, Australia and so on............ I live in the South eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia and am about 10km away from the Selwyn Fault that is a little over 100 km long and is capable of producing a magnitude 7.5 earthquake, currently a large one is over 320 years over due for us but that doesn't mean it'll occur along that fault because I live around 14 other large fault lines and experience heaps of minor earthquakes every year. So basically the question isn't "why live near a fault line" but more why live in a high earthquake risk area.

The Marikina Valley Fault System is the nearest fault line to San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan. This fault system runs through parts of Bulacan and can pose a seismic risk to the area.
Earthquakes occur near the LA area due to the movement of tectonic plates along the San Andreas Fault. The fault line passes near Los Angeles, making the region prone to seismic activity. Stress builds up along the fault line over time and is eventually released in the form of an earthquake.
The Denali Fault is a right-lateral strike-slip fault, meaning the movement is predominantly horizontal and parallel to the fault line. It runs along the southern border of the Yukon and crosses Alaska, extending for about 1,000 miles.
Major cities near the San Andreas Fault include San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego in California. These cities are at risk of experiencing earthquakes due to the movement along the fault line.
The fault line in Santa Rosa, Laguna, Philippines, is part of the Valley Fault System. This fault system runs trace down from Bulacan to Laguna, passing through different cities including Santa Rosa. It is important to note that living near a fault line poses a risk for earthquakes and residents should be prepared.
It is a kilometer away from a fault line.
There are different plates near India, so there would be a fault line, or maybe a lot.

Yes, Bulacan is situated near the West Valley Fault line in the Philippines. Being close to a fault line poses a risk for potential earthquakes and related hazards in the region.
Some provinces near the fault line in the Philippines include Batangas, Cavite, Rizal, Bulacan, and Pampanga. These provinces are located along the West Valley Fault, which is one of the major fault lines in the country.
Some places are heavily affected by earthquakes because they sit on or near a fault line. Christchurch, for example, sits near a fault line and is why it has frequent and strong earthquakes but practically everywhere in Australia is nowhere near a fault line so we get very littleearthquakes.
Japan is near to a fault line.
since the phil. fault line is along the sea hugging the eastern parts, then maybe all the eastern coastlines from luzon to mindanao are along the fault line.
yeas due to the fault line near the edge of the continent
England is not on or near a fault line.
Marilao, Bulacan is not within or near the Marikina Fault Line. The Marikina Fault Line is located in Metro Manila and nearby provinces such as Rizal and Bulacan, but it does not directly pass through Marilao.
Some areas in Bulacan near fault lines include San Jose del Monte, Norzagaray, and Doña Remedios Trinidad. These areas are close to the West Valley Fault, which is one of the major active fault lines in the Philippines. Residents in these areas should be aware of the earthquake risks associated with living near a fault line.
