Plants produce oxygen through a process called photosynthesis, where they take in carbon dioxide and energy from sunlight to create oxygen and glucose. This oxygen is released into the atmosphere as a byproduct, making it available for other organisms, including humans, to breathe. By producing oxygen, plants play a crucial role in maintaining the balance of gases in the atmosphere and supporting life on Earth.

Oxygen is waste product of plant respiration in light as Carbon dioxide and water are combined to make sugars and other carbohydrates like starch and cellulose (wood) The normal formula you find in textbooks is 6 CO2 + 6 H20 ---> C6H1206 + 6O2 that is 6 molecules of carbon dioxide + 6 of water + sunlight go to 1 molecule of glucose and 6 molecules of oxygen. The glucose is then used to make things like starch and cellulose.

1. Because electrons need to transfering energy is obtained by photolysis of water. This produces oxygen. 2H2O-->O2+4H+ +2e

2. The first step of photosynthesis is related to the photolysis of water and O2 is released as bye product of photosynthesis

During photosynthesis, plants take in carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O) from the air and soil. Within the plant cell, the water is oxidized, meaning it loses electrons, while the carbon dioxide is reduced, meaning it gains electrons. This transforms the water into oxygen and the carbon dioxide into glucose.

Which plants give oxygen all the time?

Plants like pothos, snake plant, and spider plant are known for their ability to perform photosynthesis and release oxygen continuously, even at night. These plants are great choices for improving indoor air quality and adding oxygen to your home environment.

Plants give off oxygen during a process known as?

Photosynthesis

Why do plants give out carbon dioxide in the dark and oxygen in the light and can this reduce oxygen in the bedroom at night?

Plants release carbon dioxide during respiration, which occurs both day and night. In the presence of sunlight, plants undergo photosynthesis, where they absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen. The amount of oxygen released during photosynthesis is usually more than the carbon dioxide released during respiration, so there should not be a significant reduction in oxygen levels in a bedroom at night due to plants.

What do plants give off as a waste product but they need carbon dioxide to survive?

Plants give off oxygen as a waste product through the process of photosynthesis, where they use carbon dioxide to produce energy. This oxygen is released into the atmosphere and is essential for many living organisms, including humans, to breathe and survive.

Oxygen is added to an ecosysem by?

Oxygen is added to an ecosystem primarily through the process of photosynthesis carried out by plants, algae, and cyanobacteria. These organisms utilize carbon dioxide and sunlight to produce oxygen as a byproduct. Oxygen can also be added to aquatic ecosystems through the process of diffusion from the atmosphere into the water.

What gas does plants give off in the light?

Plants give off oxygen during photosynthesis in the presence of light. This process involves the conversion of carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen, with oxygen being released as a byproduct.

Do animals and plants have blood to carry oxygen?

Well animals do but plants don't. Plants don't actually really use oxygen- they give it out. They use the sunlight and Carbon Dioxide in photosynthesis and the by-product (what they give out) of this is Oxygen.
