Electromagnetism is the phenomenon of the interaction between electrically charged particles and magnetic fields. It encompasses the study of electromagnetic forces, such as attraction and repulsion between charged particles, electromagnetic induction, and electromagnetic waves like light. Electromagnetism is described by Maxwell's equations, a set of fundamental equations in physics that unify electricity and magnetism.

Electromagnetism is one of the four elemental forces of nature. As the name infers, it's the series of phenomena related to electricity and magnetic fields. Could also be defined as the attraction between particles, or magnetism, that occurs thanks to the action of an electric current.

An electromagnet is created by passing a current around an (iron) core. Iron is used because it will not retain the megnetism when the current is turned off. Electro-magnetic radiation is what we commonly refer to as light although it refers to the full spectrum just not visible light (gamma rays, x-rays, micro-waves, radio waves, etc.)
