Is potassium and sulferan covalent compound?

Potassium and sulfur do not typically form a covalent compound. Potassium, being a metal, forms ionic compounds. Sulfur, being a nonmetal, can form covalent compounds with other nonmetals.

What molecular formula for the compound formed when hydrogen and sulfur react?

The chemical formula of hydrogen sulfide is H2S.

When potassium and sulfur react to form potassium sulfide an ionic compound what happens?

In the reaction between potassium and sulfur to form potassium sulfide, potassium transfers one electron to sulfur to achieve a stable electron configuration. This results in the formation of an ionic compound where potassium becomes a cation with a positive charge and sulfur becomes an anion with a negative charge. The strong electrostatic attraction between the oppositely charged ions leads to the formation of a crystalline lattice structure in potassium sulfide.

What compounds are formed when potassium and nitrogen react?

When potassium and nitrogen react, they form potassium nitride (K3N). This compound is a dark blue crystalline solid and is often used in fertilizers and as a source of ammonia in various industrial processes.

Does silver react with potassium nitrate?

Silver does not react with potassium nitrate under normal conditions. Potassium nitrate is a relatively stable compound that is typically used as a fertilizer or in fireworks, and it does not react with silver.

Does magnesium react with potassium sulfate?

No, magnesium does not react with potassium sulfate under normal conditions. Magnesium is a less reactive metal compared to potassium and is unlikely to displace potassium in a compound like potassium sulfate.
