Core shadowing refers to the area of an object that is not directly lit by a light source, resulting in a dark, shadowed area. It occurs on the side of the object opposite to the light source and helps to create the illusion of three-dimensionality and form in a two-dimensional representation. Core shadowing is a key element in creating realistic and dynamic drawings and paintings.
As the diameter of the liquid core increases, the size of the shadow zone decreases. This is because the larger diameter allows for more refraction of seismic waves, leading to less complete shadowing of seismic waves at certain distances.

I'm not sure if you'd actually go skiing with the person you are shadowing, but you might. Guess you would have to find out when you get there!
