I've edited the question so it makes any sort of sense.

The answer would be 4 electrons.

You need an equal number of electrons and protons to be neutral.

Neutral just means neither positive or negative. Electrons are -1 and protons are +1. The only way to not be particularly one or the other is to have them both in equal amounts.

Having 3 protons means that it is lithium, more specifically lithium-7, the stable isotope that comprises 92.5% of the lithium found on Earth. The rarer isotope, lithium-6, has only 3 neutrons.

The number of electrons typically equals the number of protons, except in ions. Therefore, lithium (3 protons) should also have three electrons.

Three basic parts of an atom?

Protons, neutrons, and electrons are the three basic parts of an atom. Protons have a positive charge, neutrons carry no charge, and electrons have a negative charge and orbit around the nucleus of an atom.

What atom has 3 protons and 3 neutrons?

An atom with 3 protons and 3 neutrons would be a lithium atom. It is represented as Li-6 in nuclear notation and is an isotope of lithium.

Neutral atom with 53 protons in its nucleus would have how many electrons orbiting the nucleus?

A neutral atom with 53 protons in its nucleus would also have 53 electrons orbiting the nucleus. This is because the number of protons and electrons in an atom are equal, giving a neutral charge overall.

What are 3 main particles in the modern model of an atom?

The three main particles in the modern model of an atom are protons, neutrons, and electrons. Protons and neutrons are found in the nucleus of an atom, while electrons orbit around the nucleus in various energy levels.

Why are there 3 subatomic particles?

Protons, neutrons, and electrons are the three main subatomic particles in an atom. Protons and neutrons are found in the nucleus while electrons orbit around the nucleus. They have different properties and roles in determining the characteristics of an element.

How do you find the mass number of an atom that has 3 protons and 4 neutrons and 2 electrons?

The mass number of an atom is the sum of its protons and neutrons. In this case, the atom has 3 protons and 4 neutrons, so the mass number is 3 + 4 = 7. Electrons do not contribute to the mass number as their mass is negligible compared to protons and neutrons.
