Ethanol from plant material is a biofuel. Burning biomass or biofuel does not contribute to global warming. When the plant was growing it removed carbon dioxide from the air. When the ethanol is burnt, that same carbon dioxide is returned to the air. This is part of the natural carbon cycle.

The carbon dioxide that comes from burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) was taken out of the atmosphere millions of years ago, so releasing it now is adding extra CO2 (and causing global warming).

This is why ethanol is counted as renewable energy and better than fossil fuels.

Ethanol, when used as a fuel, can reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to gasoline because it produces fewer emissions when burned. Additionally, ethanol is a renewable resource that can be produced from plants like corn or sugarcane, which absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as they grow, helping to offset emissions. However, the production and transportation of ethanol still contribute to global warming.

How do plants increase global warming?

Plants do not directly increase global warming. In fact, plants play a crucial role in combating global warming by absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through photosynthesis. However, deforestation and land-use changes can contribute to global warming by releasing stored carbon in trees and soil back into the atmosphere.

What does mitigate global warming mean?

Mitigating global warming refers to reducing the greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change. This can involve implementing measures such as transitioning to renewable energy sources, promoting energy efficiency, and protecting forests that act as carbon sinks to help lessen the impacts of global warming.

Global warming is responsible for human beings?

Global warming is caused by human activities that release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, leading to rising temperatures and other climate impacts. It is important for humans to take action to reduce our carbon footprint and mitigate the effects of global warming to protect the planet and future generations.

Is not reusing the cause of global warming?

Reusing items can actually help reduce global warming by decreasing the need for new production, which typically involves energy-intensive processes that emit greenhouse gases. By reusing items, we can reduce the overall carbon footprint associated with producing new products.

Is global warming really a threat?

Yes, global warming is a significant threat as it leads to rising temperatures, sea levels, and extreme weather events. These changes can have devastating impacts on ecosystems, human health, and economies worldwide. Addressing global warming requires immediate action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable practices.

Does the use of geothermal energy reduce global warming?

Yes, it can. Geothermal Energy will reduce man's dependence on Fossil Fuels, which create carbon dioxide, indirectly reducing global warming.

How does global warming cause volcanoes?

Global warming has no effect on volcanoes. It's the other way round. Volcanoes can increase global warming slightly if the emit carbon dioxide. And they can reduce global warming for a while if their dust and ash block out and reflect the sun's rays.
