Mountains form through tectonic processes such as plate tectonics, where the Earth's crust is pushed together or pulled apart. When tectonic plates collide, the crust becomes compressed and uplifted, leading to the formation of mountain ranges. Erosion and other geological forces over time can shape and change the appearance of mountains.

Do mountain breezes form during the day or night?

Mountain breezes typically form during the night. As the sun sets, the air in the valley cools more quickly than the air on the mountain, creating a temperature difference. This temperature difference causes the air to flow from the mountain down into the valley, creating a mountain breeze.
