PRO
1. Students should have freedom to choose what they eat as a form of expression.
2. By that age, you should be responsible enough to be able to make wise choices about your health.
3. The vending machines can generate revenue for the school.
4. Studies have shown that a little bit of sugar before tests helps improve scores.
5. This is a way to show students they are trusted.
6. Contentedness in students helps improve morale and may improve the classroom atmosphere. School does not have to be strict or boring to be run in an orderly manner with efficient results from students.
7. Could reduce skipping school to purchase such items.
8. The vending items could be stocked with somewhat healthier alternatives.
Cons
-------
1. Obesity and related health concerns are a growing epidemic in our schools and society.
2. Litter can be a problem, and there is more waste for the environment.
3. Snacks could increase maintenance costs as well as damages to surfaces and property. If gum is allowed, it will be found on sidewalks, under tables/chairs, in hair, etc. It is difficult to remove.
4. More snacks eaten means more trips to the restroom.
5. Students would have to bring more money to school to enjoy the snacks, and that could cause problems such as losing money, theft, and bullying to get money.
6. The machines can be vandalized or otherwise damaged.
7. Students spilling drink, pouring drink on each other, or throwing food items could invite violence.
Many students find ways to cheat the vending machine. It is on TV and YouTube. The school buys them and then someone finds a way. This person spreads how to do it. More people follow the first person who did it. And the school ends up losing money. ---- In the developed world, more and more children are becoming obese. In fact, recent estimates suggest that as many as 20% of kids are overweight. On this basis, some people believe that having vending machines throughout school corridors encourages kids to consume more junk food, which could increase their chances of obesity and ill health in later life.
Maybe in high school with restrictions on where you could take them (they present a spill and an insect problem).

This question is subjective.
In my personal opinion, yes!
The issue of vending machines in schools has been controversial for parents, school officials and the government for years. Some schools only have healthy foods in the vending machines, some machines hold no soda, and some schools turn off the machines during lunch hours. The change affects the way kids in school eat and drink. Having vending machines in schools helps in many ways besides feeding the kids.

So we would be writing fats in math class No, they should not.
IT depends on what you mean by "good." If by good you mean in terms of financial gain then yes, soda machines are good for schools. But there is also the other side to the coin in which people need to buy the soda in order for the school to make any money from it. And this is where the problem comes up. Students typically are the primary consumers for the sugary drinks, imagine that. This in the long run, can cause health problems for the students. So one could say soda machines are "good" for schools because who cares about the health of the students anyway, right? Certainly not the administration.
