Well, it's great for roasting, boiling (like peanuts), then ground or blended if boiled, add sugar and taste the real coffee seed. It is very high in caffeine when boiled and consumed. You can also put ripe cherries in a blender with ice and sugar, and get loaded with caffeine. The taste is sort of like green, unripe peas!
Coffee tastes delicious if you add some Coffee-Mate to it. They have tons of great flavors to make your coffee taste fantastic! Personallly I prefer to add the liquid Coffee-Mate to my coffee for the taste but they also have a powder you can add.
Pod coffee cups are sort of like Keurig's K-Cups, but instead of a plastic outer coating, it's a mesh like a tea bag would have around it. Besides Keurig, other coffee makers are brewers, which you put ground coffee beans in coffee paper, and the water rushes through it to pick up the taste.
I very much prefer to grind my own coffee. Whole bean coffee stays fresher, longer, and tastes betteer freshly ground. I bought a coffee pot that grinds the beans right before brewing, and it makes my coffee fresh and full of flavor. I hardly ever buy pre ground coffee, it doesn't taste as good.

You can make decaffeinated coffee taste more like caffeinated coffee by putting sugar in it. There are also some brands of decaf that are flavored to taste closer to regular coffee.
