The Double Bass or the Contrabass is the lowest member of the string family.
order of brass instruments from hightest to lowest pitch
The instrument that can produce the lowest pitch are Saxophone,Woodwind & low pitch Piano ect....
Tuba
The bass has the lowest pitch of these instruments, followed by the 'cello and then the viola.
The order of bowed string instruments from highest to lowest range is: Violin Viola Cello Double Bass
The Bass Clarinet should have the lowest pitch.. or if not the Bassoon
It depends on the sort of acoustical music instruments you have. If the temperature goes up, the pitch of woodwind instruments go up too, but the pitch of string instruments go down.
The difference between tuning string instruments and wind instruments is that with string instruments, you must adjust the tension of the strings in order to tune/change the pitch. With wind instruments (most of the time), you have to pull a part of the instrument either in or out to change the pitch/tune (pulling it out would make the pitch lower, and pushing it in would make the pitch higher). For example, with a trombone, there is a tuning slide at the top that you can pull or push out. If you had a saxophone, you would have to pull out or push in on the mouthpiece. If you had a guitar (string instrument), however, there are tuning keys that you can turn to adjust the tension of the strings.
I assume you mean, highest of the string family. It is the smallest of the 4 orchestral stringed instruments (violin, viola, cello, and double bass), and is therefore able to produce the highest-pitched sounds. The shorter the string which is made to vibrate, the higher its sound.
From thickest string to thinnest, (lowest in pitch to highest in pitch) B E A D G C. From a regular four string bass, it has one lower string and one higher string.
The smallest and highest pitched member of the string family in modern times is the violin. The Eucolale and mandolin are also pretty small but in terms of pitch it has to be the violin. In the old days they was an instrument called a rebec which was like a violin but smaller. The rebec was very popular with soldiers as could easily be carried in their packs.
