Assuming a "by the book" shot is 1 ounce, there would be 25.6 shots in a fifth of alcohol (25.6 ounces, or a fifth of a gallon). If you consider a shot to be the typical 1.5 ounces, then there are just a little over 17 shots.

∙ 12y agoAbout 17... A fifth of whiskey is, of course, 1/5 of a gallon. A gallon has 128 fluid ounces, so one fifth of that is 25.6 oz, meaning there are 25.6 oz in your fifth of whiskey. The standard shot glass is 1.5 oz, so the fifth contains 17.06666666... shots, which rounds to 17.

∙ 10y agoThere are around 18 shots of tequila in a glass 750 ml bottle of tequila. This amount can change due to the size shot glass you are using. With a standard shot glass there are 18 shots in a fifth.

∙ 13y agoThere are a little over 25 fluid ounces in a 'fifth' which would provide 25, 1 ounce shots, or about 16 2/3, 1.5 ounce shots.

A fifth is a common term for 750 ml of hard liquor, approximately 1/5 of a gallon.
Not quite. A pint is a half of a quart, or QUARTer-gallon. A "fifth" is a fifth of a gallon, so a pint is an eighth of a gallon, while a half of a fifth would be one-tenth.
A fifth is a fifth of a gallon, a pint is an eighth of a gallon. So the fifth is larger
A jigger is a bartending tool used to measure liquor, which is typically then poured into a cocktail shaker. It is named for the unit of liquid it typically measures, a 1.5 fluid ounce. Therefore, 4 jiggers would equal 6 ounces.*One should note that jiggers can be purchased in other unmarked sizes and may not actually measure a fluid jigger.
If you are assuming the typical "pint"-sized liquor (375 mL), then simple arithmetic would show that 2 pints = 1 "fifth" (750 mL). If we are talking a true pint of fluid (500 mL), then 1.5 pints = 1 "fifth".
A "fifth" of liquor was 1/5 of a U.S. gallon (128 ounces) or 4/5 of a U.S. quart (32 ounces). So 128/5=25.6 ounces or (4/5)*32=25.6 ounces. The current bottles are 750 ml or 25.36 ounces.
There are 1.5856236786469344608879492600423 pints in a gallon. And now, one from the lighter side: Not enough! The original "fifth" size liquor bottle was 4/5 of a pint, 1/5 of a gallon, or 25.6 ounces. The modern liquor bottle that we still call a fifth is actually 750 mls, which is 25.4 ounces, just a tiny bit less than the original fifth.
a 750 is a fifth of a gallon, so at least 13.
Two Graduated Jiggers was created in 2000.
