The name Coke is a nickname for Coca Cola. A long, long time ago, Coca Cola contained Cocaine in its ingredients, seriously! Cocaine wasn't always outlawed in the US, you know. In fact, over the counter medications would carry some (small) level of Cocaine in their ingredients and doctors would prescribe higher doses of pure Cocaine for such illnesses as fatigue. Then Cocaine was outlawed, and Coca Cola took it from its ingredients. The history should give you a hint at the names: Coca Cola and Coke for the popular soda.
YES!!! Cocaine WAS an ingredient in the original Coca-Cola when it was first introduced to the public. (This was many, many years ago) Cocaine was present in minute, trace amounts. However, it was enough for people to become "addicted" to Coca-Cola. Cocaine was soon removed as an ingredient.
No, coca cola does not own the rights to the the red and white santa clause we all recognise. It is speculated though, that many years ago St. Nicks colours were green and gold. It was only after a famous coca cola christams ad campange, involving a train load of coke arriving on Christmas eve, did his colours begin to change. This change is seldom noticed, and forms a general connection between sata and coca cola, a very clever tactic indeed.
how long ago shoes were invented!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I woould also likke to know so im bumping the question up. But with a hint of cynisism im gonna say that "the establishment" bought up the company in secret through some ninja-society some years ago.
Attention to detail, and the ability to work late nights debugging surviving only on Snickers bars and coca-cola.(Written by an assembly language programmer of long ago) ;)
Claim: Coca-Cola was originally green. Status: False. Origins: Though this tidbit of knowledge has been widely distributed as part of an Internet "Did You Know?" list, at no time in Coca-Cola's history has that beverage been green. The original formula called for caramel to give Coca-Cola its rich brown color, and although the recipe has undergone some changes through the years, none of them affected the ultimate color of the product. http://www.snopes.com/cokelore/green.asp
Coca-Cola There was a whole series of Retro Style commercials in the same time period.
