Many people don't know the correct way to make tea.
Boil water
Put some of the hot water in the tea pot to let warm, then drain it out.
Put your tea bags (or fresh tea in a tea leaf strainer) and pour boiling water over it.
Put a "tea cozy" over the tea pot to keep warm. These can be bought Wal-mart or craft fairs.
Coffee perks, TEA STEEPS. The longer the tea steeps the stronger it gets. Just like cooking a steak rare, medium or well done, ask your guests how strong they like their tea.
Once you feel the tea is just right remove the tea bags.
Scottish people often would put a cube of sugar between their teeth and sip their tea that way. Others in Scotland would put their cream/sugar in the tea, stir and then put a little in the saucer and sip it that way.
The proper way to serve tea is in a tea cup. Most of us just use mugs now and that's fine, but if you are having older ladies over (70 and up) I suggest tea cups.
Additional tipsWhen making iced tea, I have found that filtering the tea through a strainer lined with a coffee filter greatly reduces the amount of sediment in the bottom of the pitcher. This especially applies to tea made with tea bags, since the ground tea causes the sediment in the bottom of the pitcher. This will also greatly improve the quality, taste and clarity of the tea, thus resulting in clear tea instead of cloudy.
* 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted * 3 teaspoons baking powder * 1 tablespoon sugar (optional) * 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional) * 1 egg, beaten * 1 cup milk * 2 tablespoons canola oil * 3/4 cup fresh or thawed and drained blueberries == == # In a large bowl, mix egg, milk, oil, and sugar. # Add flour, salt, and baking powder. Then stir well. Some lumps are OK. # Stir in blueberries. # Preheat a non-stick frying pan or non-stick griddle until hot. Test to see if it is hot by dropping a few drops of water on the hot pan. If the water sizzles and dances, the pan is ready. Keep the pan on medium heat...if it is too high the pancakes will burn. # Use a small ladle, scoop, or measuring cup to drop the pancake batter onto the pan. When bubbles start to appear and the edges are dry, flip them over. Remove when golden brown on both sides.

Mash five cups of blueberries in a pot with a potato masher. Add a cup of water and bring to a boil on medium high heat. Pour the liquid off through a sieve, strainer, or cheese cloth. This removes the berry husks and stems. If you want pulpier syrup, just remove the stems before boiling.
Add one cup of sugar, bring to a boil again stirring frequently. Add a couple of tablespoons of lemon juice, then remove from heat. Bottle the syrup and store in your refrigerator.
The blueberry is one of the healthiest, most delicious foods on the planet. It’s a wonder why anyone would NOT want to eat it! While it is delicious fresh and raw, it is one of the most versatile fruits there is to cook with. Here are a few ideas that will invigorate your cuisine.
As most people know, blueberries make excellent pies. There are thousands of recipes for traditional blueberry pie available online and in books, as how to make the perfect blueberry pie is one of the most hotly debated subjects there is. Most people agree, however, that blueberry pie - at least when done correctly - is a quintessential American treat that cannot be beat! Other blueberry deserts that are popular are blueberry crisp and blueberry crumble.
Blueberries are well known for their versatility in deserts, but they are also very useful in savory preparations as well. When boiled down, they make a delicious sauce for roasted meats, such as duck, pheasant and other type of game birds. Venison with blueberry sauce is also a wonderful way to prepare the fruit. If using blueberries for a savory sauce, be sure to pair the dish with a green vegetable to add some bitterness; otherwise, the sugar may be overpowering.
Blueberries are excellent when used in BBQ sauce as well. In New England, blueberry BBQ sauce is extremely popular. The effect can be achieved by producing a standard BBQ sauce and adding the juice of mashed blueberries to the boil. The sauce can be used either to baste meats while they are cooking or to dip already prepared food into. It truly is one of the most succulent sauces in the world.
Most importantly, one should always make the effort to experiment with blueberries when cooking. Be sure to use nontraditional methods when employing blueberries, as you might come up with something wonderful. Remember that no one would have ever invented any type of dish if they hadn’t had tried something new. Be sure to have fun, cook well enjoy yourself!
