Plants do not benefit from being watered with coke or milk. Both beverages can actually harm plants by changing the pH level of the soil and promoting the growth of bacteria or fungi that can be harmful to the plant. It is best to stick with water for watering plants.
If your referring to the soda, no it does not really. My son did the same project in the 5th grade and didn't see different growth patterns than a plant that was watered.

I don't know if flower seeds will sprout by watering it with coke, but I did an experiment where I watered grass seeds with DR. Pepper. and it grew the grass, but not very well. I don't know what the difference would be with flowers and coke.
